Faerie Houses 2011 Wall Calendar
|
Watercolor artist Sally J. Smith (American, b. 1954) creates environmental sculptures in the woodlands near her home in the Adirondacks. Working throughout the year in weather mild or wild, Smith fashions faerie houses almost entirely from local, natural materials. Often fastened with thorns or porcupine quills, the diminutive dwellings, after being constructed and photographed, are frequently left in the forests to await discovery (and, perhaps, inhabitation) by other beings.
