List price: $5.99
Author: William Shakespeare
Brand: Brand: Washington Square Pr 2003-12-23
Shakespeare may have written Julius Caesar as the first of his plays to be performed at the Globe, in 1599. For it, he turned to a key event in Roman history: Caesar’s death at the hands of friends and fellow politicians. Renaissance writers disagreed over the assassination, seeing Brutus, a leading conspirator, as either hero or villain. Shakespeare’s play keeps this debate alive.
The authoritative edition of Julius Caesar from The Folger Shakespeare Library, the trusted and widely used Shakespeare series for students and general readers, includes:
-Freshly edited text based on the best early printed version of the play
-Newly revised explanatory notes conveniently placed on pages facing the text of the play
-Scene-by-scene plot summaries
-A key to the play’s famous lines and phrases
-An introduction to reading Shakespeare’s language
-An essay by a leading Shakespeare scholar providing a modern perspective on the play
-Fresh images from the Folger Shakespeare Library’s vast holdings of rare books
-An up-to-date annotated guide to further reading
Essay by Coppélia Kahn

|Day Of Deceit: The Truth About FDR and Pearl Harbor
Lowest new price: $7.44
Lowest used price: $0.99
List price: $18.00
Author: Robert Stinnett
In Day of Deceit, Robert Stinnett delivers the definitive final chapter on America's greatest secret and our worst military disaster.
Drawing on twenty years of research and access to scores of previously classified documents, Stinnett proves that Pearl Harbor was not an accident, a mere failure of American intelligence, or a brilliant Japanese military coup. By showing that ample warning of the attack was on FDR's desk and, furthermore, that a plan to push Japan into war was initiated at the highest levels of the U.S. government, he ends up profoundly altering our understanding of one of the most significant events in American history.
It was not long after the first Japanese bombs fell on the American naval ships at Pearl Harbor that conspiracy theories began to circulate, charging that Franklin Roosevelt and his chief military advisors knew of the impending attack well in advance. Robert Stinnett, who served in the U.S. Navy with distinction during World War II, examines recently declassified American documents and concludes that, far more than merely knowing of the Japanese plan to bomb Pearl Harbor, Roosevelt deliberately steered Japan into war with America.
Stinnett's argument draws on both circumstantial evidence--the fact, for example, that in September 1940 Roosevelt signed into law a measure providing for a two-ocean navy that would number 100 aircraft carriers--and, more importantly, on American governmental documents that offer apparently incontrovertible proof that Roosevelt knowingly sacrificed American lives in order to enter the war on the side of England. Although obviously troubled by his discovery of a systematic plan of deception on the part of the American government, Stinnett does not take deep issue with its outcome. Roosevelt, he writes, faced powerful opposition from isolationist forces, and, against them, the Pearl Harbor attack was "something that had to be endured in order to stop a greater evil--the Nazi invaders in Europe who had begun the Holocaust and were poised to invade England." Sure to excite discussion, Stinnett's book offers what may be the final word on the terrible matter of Pearl Harbor. --Gregory McNamee

The book that charted a new course in the research of the JFK assassination. Containing fascinating, never before seen documents, the book was a major focus of Nigel Turner's History Channel Documentary - "The Men Who Killed Kennedy/The Guilty Men" in 2003. But legal action was threatened by LBJ associates, leading to the banning of further sales or broadcasting of the program. "The Men on the Sixth Floor" was the first book to introduce Malcolm Wallace to the assassination community. It was the first book to tie Wallace to the owner of the Texas School Book Depository - D. H. Byrd, and it was the first book to release the never before seen "Estes documents" to public scrutiny. That is why this book is considered 'required reading' by serious JFK researchers around the world.

|The Lost Journals of Nikola Tesla: Time Travel, Alternative Energy and the Secret of Nazi Flying Saucers
Lowest new price: $19.99
Lowest used price: $23.31
List price: $24.95
Author: Tim R Swartz
NEWLY REVISED EDITION! HERE NOW -- IN THIS EXPANDED WORK -- ARE SOME OF THE MOST BIZARRE EXPERIMENTS CARRIED OUT BY THE WORLD'S GREATEST ELECTRICAL WIZARD UNDER THE MOST HUSH-HUSH OF CIRCUMSTANCES. EXPERIMENTS DEALING WITH. . . TIME TRAVEL, ALTERNATIVE AND FREE ENERGY, AS WELL AS A POSSIBLE NAZI "FLYING SAUCER" CONNECTION. Nikola Tesla was the genius credited for creating much of modern, electrical technology. Yet, his contributions have been largely forgotten. An examination of Nikola Tesla's lost papers -- some of which were confiscated by the U.S. government after his death -- shows that Tesla was interested in and experimented with many concepts that have been regarded until recently as "wild ideas." It's no surprise that Tesla was loath to speak of these kinds of interests -- after all, even now these areas of study still come under fire by the majority of mainstream scientists who refuse to use their imaginations and intellect and scorn such matters with terms such as "voodoo science" and "unadulterated quackery." It is now known that there have been a number of top-secret programs that were devoted to either investigating or, shockingly enough, actively using technology based on some of Tesla's more unorthodox ideas. Both the United States and Russia have active Particle Beam and RF (radio-frequency) weaponry that has been in operation since the early 1970s -- all as a result of Tesla's early 19th and 20th Century experiments. To say that there are other black budget projects involving Tesla-based research would vastly underestimate the total amount of research and development being conducted right now by many countries worldwide. And these are the projects that we know about. Who knows how many deep, dark, secret projects are being conducted right now with science that could be decades, even hundreds of years, beyond what civilian science knows about today? This work exposes such topics as: Reverse Gravity -- Free Energy -- Contact With Hidden Dimensions -- Mysterious Radio Signals From Space -- Earth Changes -- Freak Weather Patterns -- Electric Death Rays -- UFOs -- Particle Beam Weapons and much, much more.
|Lincoln Unmasked: What You're Not Supposed to Know About Dishonest Abe
Lowest new price: $29.94
Lowest used price: $7.99
List price: $22.95
Author: Thomas DiLorenzo
What if you were told that the revered leader Abraham Lincoln was actually a political tyrant who stifled his opponents by suppressing their civil rights? What if you learned that the man so affectionately referred to as the “Great Emancipator” supported white supremacy and pledged not to interfere with slavery in the South? Would you suddenly start to question everything you thought you knew about Lincoln and his presidency?
Thomas J. DiLorenzo, who ignited a fierce debate about Lincoln’s legacy with his book The Real Lincoln, now presents a litany of stunning new revelations that explode the most enduring (and pernicious) myths about our sixteenth president. Marshaling an astonishing amount of new evidence, Lincoln Unmasked offers an alarming portrait of a political manipulator and opportunist who bears little resemblance to the heroic, stoic, and principled figure of mainstream history.
Did you know that Lincoln . . .
• did NOT save the union? In fact, Lincoln did more than any other individual to destroy the voluntary union the Founding Fathers recognized.
• did NOT want to free the slaves? Lincoln, who did not believe in equality of the races, wanted the Constitution to make slavery “irrevocable.”
• was NOT a champion of the Constitution? Contrary to his high-minded rhetoric, Lincoln repeatedly trampled on the Constitution—and even issued an arrest warrant for the chief justice of the United States!
• was NOT a great statesman? Lincoln was actually a warmonger who manipulated his own people into a civil war.
• did NOT utter many of his most admired quotations? DiLorenzo exposes a legion of statements that have been falsely attributed to Lincoln for generations—usually to enhance his image.
In addition to detailing Lincoln’s offenses against the principles of freedom, equality, and states’ rights, Lincoln Unmasked exposes the vast network of academics, historians, politicians, and other “gatekeepers” who have sanitized his true beliefs and willfully distorted his legacy. DiLorenzo reveals how the deification of Lincoln reflects a not-so-hidden agenda to expand the size and scope of the American state far beyond what the Founding Fathers envisioned—an expansion that Lincoln himself began.
The hagiographers have shaped Lincoln’s image to the point that it has become more fiction than fact. With Lincoln Unmasked, DiLorenzo shows us an Abraham Lincoln without the rhetoric, lies, and political bias that have clouded a disastrous president’s enduring damage to the nation.
|The Allende Letters And the VARO Edition of the Case For the UFO
Lowest new price: $36.67
Lowest used price: $30.08
List price: $39.95
Author: Morris K. Jessup
DID THE PUBLICATION OF THIS RARE MANUSCRIPT CAUSE FAMED ASTRONOMER DR MORRIS K. JESSUP TO 'COMMIT SUICIDE?" Or was he murdered because of what he knew? Only a handful of copies were originally printed on an office copier by a private government contractor. NOW AVAILABLE AFTER NEARLY 50 YEARS On the evening of APril 20, 1959, an astronomer committed suicide in Dade County Park, FLorida. Inhaling automobile exhaust fumes which he had introduced from the tail pipe through a hose into his station wagon, he died in the same academic obscurity in which he had lived, unheralded and almost unrecognized in his discipline. Ironicallly, the scientists only public recognition had come from lay people, who had read his series of four books about UFOs. Morris Jessup's first book, THE CASE FOR THE UFO, had tended to alienate him from his colleagues. It was a paperback edition of this volume published in 1955 that enmeshed Jessup in one of the most bizarre mysteries in UFO history. An annotated reprint of the paperback was laboriously typed out on offset stencils and printed in a very small run by a Garland, Texas manufacturing company with military ties. Each page was run thrugh the small office duplicator twice, once with blank ink for the regular text of the book, then once again with red ink, the latter reproducing the mysterious annotations by three men, who may have been gypsies, hoaxters or space people living among humankind. The spiral bound volume contained more than 200 pages ane became known as the Annotated Edition. A reprint quickly became legend. A few civilizan UFO enthusiasts claimed to have seen copies, but there were only known to be seventeen in existence one of which Jessup possessed. . . but which mysteriously disappeared after his death. . . never to be seen again. This is a once in a lifetime offered reprint of the Case For The UFO with all the rare notes exactly as presented by these "strangers." The big mystery is why the government would go to so much trouble to reprint a book that had been rejected by the scientific community and further to include mysterious letters to the author and even more bizarre annotations. This manuscript is the first to hint at the Philadelphia Experiment, Time Travel and other scientifically "oddities." It is a manuscript which has been long searched for because of its quite peculiar nature and its rarity among "those in the know." There are some who say this book is among the weirdest ever published on unidentified flying objects. One copy is known to have been sold for $1200. This reprint is but a fraction of the cost. This edition also contains a rare introduction by Gray Barker.
