******RECOMMENDED BY THE HANDCRAFTED SOAP & COSMETIC GUILD******

"Should become THE book for soapmaking. . . . It's about time someone wrote a book like this. Most are idealistic and inaccurate. This book has a wonderful common sense approach that is SO long overdue. . . . I can recommend it with 100% confidence." -- Susan Kennedy, Oregon Trail Soaps, Rogue River, Oregon

"Smart it is . . . . A simple, no-nonsense book that cuts through the curmudgery of stifling soap bibles like no other." -- Shellie Humphries, Harstine Island, Washington

"Way overdue. . . . A gift of common sense caution, proven methods, tried-and-true shortcuts, and some excellent recipes as well, for both the professional/experienced soapmaker and the eager beginner." -- Deb Petersen, Shepherd's Soap Co., Shelton, Washington

"A great book for beginners, with clear and easy instructions." -- Anne-Marie Faiola, Bramble Berry Inc., Bellingham, Washington

"I learned more from Smart Soapmaking than from any other soaping book, and I have read quite a few. . . . It's written with the average person in mind, not a chemistry major. Directions are very simple and easy to understand. It really takes the mystery out of making soap." -- Jackie Pack, Stuart, Virginia

"Groundbreaking . . . . Anne L. Watson [is the] universally respected and loved author/crafter/curator of this lost art for thousands of aspiring soapers . . . . Unquestionably the best book with which to begin. To be precise, it's probably the most accessible, most reader-friendly, and most immediately useful container of information a first-time soapmaker could hope to find." -- Wishing Willow (blog)

"'Smart Soapmaking' finally got me over the hump [of fearing lye]. . . . I think Anne Watson is the Elizabeth Zimmermann of the soap world -- a frugal, common sense gal, who says, 'Don't overcomplicate things. Just make soap.'" -- Amanda Blake Soule, author, "The Creative Family" and "Handmade Home," Soule Mama (blog), Feb. 7, 2012

"An easy to read and understand book that will take the mystery out of milk-based soapmaking and debunk some of the myths surrounding it. "As uber-soapmaker Anne L. Watson demonstrates, milk soaps made properly are [rightfully] well-known for a quality of luxurious buttery softness that is undeniable. . . . Anne once again acquits herself ably as a scholar of the suds and a natural communicator." -- Wishing Willow (blog)

"Enthusiastically recommended." -- Midwest Book Review, Feb. 2009, "Reviewer's Choice"

"Full of information that milk soapers, whether novice or experienced, could use to make better milk soaps. Anne writes in a conversational style that made me feel as though I were sitting down with her in her kitchen. . . . Anne details what seems to be everything there is to know about the subject. Rather than simply offering her opinions and favorite practices, Anne did extensive testing and experimenting, learning how to make the best milk soap bars that could be made. Soapmakers will be impressed with the amount and quality of Anne's research and observations. . . . That leaves the question: Can a neophyte made good cold-process milk soap? I now say yes, with the caveat they have 'Milk Soapmaking' in hand." -- Beth Byrne, "The Saponifier," Sept.-Oct. 2010

DIY Natural Melt and Pour Soap Crafting

Ultimate Guide to Making & Selling Colorful Natural Soaps

Paraben, Sulfate and Triclosan are some of the ingredients in commercial soap that I never questioned until I began making soap at home. That’s when my curiosity got the best of me.

After finding just these three, I wanted to call a truce to look for dangerous additives in what I used (and worse yet, my children used) to clean.

That’s when I thought I found the fourth one. Fragrance! How in the world could something that sounds as harmless as fragrance possibly damage your skin? How wrong I was. The definition of fragrance was a far cry in meaning than the one on the soap label.

I began making soap because it was a fun hobby I could share with my children. I continued because it morphed into a successful small business. But I’m now compelled to continue knowing that I’m contributing to the health of my family.

Before we get into the actual soap making, I do share my findings about just these four potentially harmful ingredients found in too many soaps and body washes. I am sure you will be shocked to read it. But let’s move on and talk about what more is in this book.

I wanted to arrange the chapters in a logical order. So you are not confused as I was when I first started.

I start off with what and how commercial soap can harm you and your family, I dug deep and found out the truth. Then I explain all three soap making process and why Melt and Pour method is the best and easiest to use. Next, I show you what supplies and equipment you will need and their approximate cost. In the next chapter I guide you through a step by step soap making process (chapter 4). After that we discuss everything under the sun about molds you can use and all of their different variations and types (chapter 5).

Chapter 6 is all about adding colors and how to use the color wheel. Next up is essential oils which give your soap its scent and a great natural healing power (Chapter 7). After that it is all about my favorite recipes (chapter 8), next I share 15 soap coloring tricks that may truly surprise you, yes they are that good really! (chapter 9).

And lastly, in chapter 10, it is all about how to start, run and grow your soap business right from home.

After reading the book, you will become a master on how to make homemade soap using melt pour soap making method. You will also learn about all soap making supplies, my favorite soap making recipes and most importantly you will know the difference between store bought commercial soap vs. all natural and organic soap made right at home.

If you have any question, I have added my personal email address at the end of the book so you can contact me.

Soy & Beeswax Candle Making Handbook

How to Start a Homebased Profitable Candle Making Business

According to the National Candle Association U.S. retail sales of candles are estimated at approximately $3.2 billion dollars per year and growing.

If you are a candle lover, then you already know that not all candles are created equal right?

The question is why not, well, because most commercially made candles are full of paraffin, a petroleum byproduct that is cheap to use and harmful to you and your family. Not to mention they don’t give you the long-lasting aroma that some better quality candles provide.

I have been making and selling candles for little over two decades now, and I can assure you it is not a hard craft to master. It is one of the simpler home craft that anyone can try and see great success. But more importantly, you will be able to enjoy the goodness of a real soy or beeswax candle that is aromatic and good for you and your whole family.

But what if you can make much better quality candles right at home and at a fraction of the cost? What if I tell you it can be done in just few hour? Lastly what if I tell you, you can sell some of your creation and make a nice income from it right from home?

Could you use a little bit (or maybe a LOT) of extra cash each month? And wouldn’t it be great to be able to earn that extra cash without having to get another job. Wouldn’t it be great if you could earn this extra cash on YOUR terms.

In this book, I will show you how you can do just that.

If I was able to peak your interest, then let me say this, it is very doable, and NO it does not take any extra or special skill set. Once you know the basics, you can then start getting creative and add your own touch, scent, and color and make something so unique that just by looking at it, everyone will know it is your creation.

Okay now, let me give you a quick glimpse of what you will learn in this book so you can decide for yourself.

Natural & Organic Liquid Soap Making Business Startup

Learn How to Make Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, Sunscreen Lotion, Muscle Balm, Hand Sanitizers, Pet Shampoo & So Much More

I started making Body wash, shampoo and conditioners in 2004 when after a couple of allergy tests my dermatologist advised me not to use any store bought soap or shampoo.  The doctor said my skin discoloration issue was an adverse chemical reaction from the soap. Soon my necessity to make soap became a true passion.

It wasn’t until 2012 when my husband got laid off from his job, I had to seriously think about how to turn my passion into a small home based business, and I did. I grew my business into a decent business making not only Shampoos or liquid soaps, but I ventured into making body scrubs, body wash, SPF lotions, muscle rubs, bug repellent, hand scrub(mostly for my husband, so he can use after working on his 65 Mustang), hand sanitizer and even dog shampoo for our 10 years old Dalmatian.

This book is not about my success in business, but I want to focus on you and your ability to make your passion into a home based business which can potentially grow into a big business. Lately, the new trend is all organic and all natural Beauty products, so I think this is the right time to get into this business.

I put my best efforts to make this book easy to read and follow so you can get started and see a big success in a short period of time.

In this book, my goal is to you make you understand and learn how each ingredient works with each other and how to create your own recipes and flavors, so your creative side comes out and creates something unique that is truly yours and only yours. If you are looking to learn the process, then this is the book for you but if you are just looking just for recipes then this not the book for you.

This book is Divided into Two Parts.

In the First Part, I Show you How to Actually Create Your Product Line

  • 19 Essential Ingredients For All Soap Making
  • What And How To Use Essential Oils
  • 12 Creative Ways To Use Essential Oils
