Pizzacraft PC9899 20 x 13.5 Rectangular ThermaBond Baking/Pizza Stone for Oven or Grill

Pizzacraft PC9899 20 x 13.5 Rectangular ThermaBond Baking/Pizza Stone for Oven or Grill Lowest new price: $28.99
List price: $59.99
Brand: Pizzacraft
Model: PC9899

Cooking pizza from scratch is becoming more popular among enthusiasts and the economically-minded alike. Making pizza at home leaves you free to experiment, select the best ingredients, and save the money you'd have spent tipping the delivery guy.
This Pizzacraft baking stone is perfect for pizza, bread, pastries and other food, eliminating hot spots while cooking, and producing a uniformly browned crust. Just like food baked in a professional brick-lined oven – but it's from your kitchen or grill.
This stone is also convenient for heating and re-heating ready-made frozen pizzas and baked goods. Easy to maintain as the stone requires no seasoning or conditioning. Thermal shock resistant and made of 100% All-Natural FDA-Safe material.

ThermaBond™ stones are manufactured with Pizzacraft’s exclusive ThermaBond™ technology; specially formulated to eliminate thermal shock breakage, promote even heat distribution and retention, and guaranteed durability for consistent cooking on the oven or grill.

HOW TO USE: For best results, pre-heat oven to 500° F (260° C) and place stone in middle of oven on lowest rack. If using a grill, preheat to same temperature and place on middle of grill for 30 minutes. When it is time to bake, dust stone with cornmeal before placing baked goods on top. For fresh pizza, a flat metal spatula or a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal works well for transferring food to the baking stone. Alternatively, wearing an oven mitt or glove, remove the hot stone from the oven, place pizza on the stone and return both to the oven or grill.

This baking stone can be used for bread, pizza and other baked goods. Please keep in mind that some foods, such as bread and pizza, will do well baked directly on the stone, while others may require a thin layer of foil between the food and the surface of the stone. The layer of foil will promote optimal baking for certain types of food such as cookies.

CARE: This cordierite baking stone is extremely durable and will not crack because of thermal shock. There is no need to soak the stone in water before use.

To clean, scrape off any excess food with a spatula. When the stone has cooled, run it under hot water while scrubbing with a brush. Do not use soap on the stones as it may leave a soapy aftertaste. The natural properties of the baking stone will cause it to darken and spot with age – do not attempt to remove this discoloration. Air-dry the stone and store inside the oven.

PLEASE NOTE: This pizza stone contains cordierite, a natural mineral that strengthens thermal shock resistance. This is why your stone will not crack during high-heat use. Some people find that the first time they heat the stone, there is an odor. The smell comes from cordierite and will disappear with use. It is non-toxic.

PLEASE NOTE: This baking stone was updated in 2015 and now measures 20" by 13.5" by .67" Inches. The width of the stone remains the same, but the length was reduced by 2.5 inches. These changes were made in response to customer feedback that the stone was too long for many standard ovens. The 20" long stone can now fit in most ovens. We also boosted the stone's thickness to make it even more durable. We're glad we were able to make these changes for our customers.

100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED. Pizzacraft Will Replace or Refund If You Have Any Concerns.

Serious pizza makers and bread bakers use Old Stone Oven pizza stones. Yet, you don’t have to be a serious cook to make restaurant-quality pizza: an Old Stone Oven pizza stone makes it easy.

Made of the same material as the Old World’s legendary brick pizza ovens, these stones absorb the oven’s intense heat and transfer it evenly to your bread and pizza dough. The result is the pizzeria pizza you crave, every time. The crust, crispy and slightly charred, gives way to light, airy chew. Tomatoes burst on your tongue under golden bubbles of cheese. Or, shift gears and bake a hearty loaf atop the stone; your bread comes out of the oven with a baker-approved chewy crust.

Invented by Chicago pizza enthusiast, cookware purveyor, and restaurant critic Pasquale “Pat” Bruno more than 40 years ago, Old Stone Oven pizza stones are the original stones for home oven use. Thicker than other stones, their porosity and heat retention create a multilayered crunchy-chewy crust. Manufactured in the US from a special blend of lead-free clays, they are kiln-fired during manufacturing to produce unmatched durability. The stones, therefore, are able to withstand extreme heat and handle temperature changes without cracking. They are oven- and grill safe to 2000° F.

Old Stone Oven’s largest stone gives you an ample rectangular work surface for mouthwatering pizzas, long French baguettes, and other artisanal breads. A specially engineered Heat Core center concentrates heat in the stone’s middle for evenly crispy crusts and eliminates soggy centers. Ridged feet on the stone’s underside keep the stone balanced on an oven rack and give you superior grip and maneuverability.

Bring the taste of the Old World home with Old Stone Oven.

Professional pizza and traditional European bread ovens are often lined with stone or brick. This is so heat is stored up and redistributed evenly. The resulting blast of heat from the Old Stone Oven rectangular pizza stone gives bread and pizza a nice chewy crust. The rustic French tarts called galettes are also well suited to a baking stone. To use the stone, place it in a cold oven and preheat to 500 degrees for pizza, or according to the recipe for bread or galettes. The stone is made of the same material that lines blast furnaces and kilns, so it can handle ultra-high temperatures.

Wait until the baking stone is entirely cooled before attempting to clean it. Let it dry completely before using again. Some discoloration will occur over time; this is natural and will not affect baking. Using baking parchment may help delay that discoloration. Do not bake cookies, turnovers or other high-fat items on the stone; the stone would absorb the fat and proceed to produce smoke and bad odors. The stone comes with a flyer that contains detailed use and cleaning instructions, as well as recipes for bread, pizza dough, and two pizza toppings. --Garland Withers

Pizza Stone

The ultimate pizza cooking companion. Using a pizza stone is the best way to distribute heat evenly while cooking a pizza on the grill. The ceramic stone absorbs the heat from the burners and retains it effectively, evenly cooking your pizza without burning your crust. This pizza stone measures 13 inches in diameter and is 7/16-inch thick.

Pizza Peel

The pizza peel is another invaluable tool for grilling up home-cooked pizza. You can build your pizza on the peel, slide it off onto the pizza stone for cooking, turn or rotate it as needed, and finally remove your pizza when done. Our pizza peel has an ultra-thin stainless steel surface to make it as easy as possible to get under your cooking pizza and maneuver it as you need. It also features an aggressive back stop to keep the pizza secure and stable while in use, as well as a silicone folding handle for comfortable use and simple storage. The peel surface measures 9.5 by 10.5 inches, while the handle extends another 11 inches.

Pizza Cutter

I know it's tempting to eat the whole thing, but we all know pizza is even better when shared. This set includes a simple, easy-to-use pizza cutter to slice up that tasty pie into sharable slices. This pizza cutter has a 2.75-inch wheel and measures 7.5 inches long.

Innovative Culinary Tools Are the Cuisinart Signature

Julia Child let people in on the Cuisinart secret, and so did James Beard. They were among the first culinary experts to hail the food processor as a revolutionary kitchen appliance when it was introduced to America in 1973 by the late Cuisinart founder, Carl Sontheimer. They saw the food processor as a quick and easy way to make fine food and healthy dishes.

Today that legacy is alive and well — Cuisinart is a universally recognized name, endorsed by culinary connoisseurs such as Jacques Pépin and Hubert Keller, and remaining actively engaged in culinary education, including sponsoring such projects as Four-Star Chef Eric Ripert's popular public television cooking series Avec Eric. In addition, Cuisinart has a long-standing history of receiving prestigious design awards for a wide range of items. But the prestigious Cuisinart brand is not limited to food processors — plugged or unplugged, nobody covers the modern chef like Cuisinart.

Cuisinart is a full-service culinary resource with a wide array of products, preferred by chefs and favored by consumers. Now you can take the world famous Cuisinart brand to your patio, lawn, tailgate, or campsite with our comprehensive line of outdoor grilling products also available on Amazon. Visit the Cuisinart Outdoor Grilling brand page on Amazon to see our full selection of grills and grilling tools, and make your next barbeque, picnic, or backyard cookout a smashing success.

Picture-Perfect Pizza Recipe - Ingredients

Already salivating over that Grilled Feta & Basil Pizza in the picture? It's easier to make than you would think. Just gather these ingredients and follow the simple instructions below...

  • 1 16-Ounce loaf of pizza dough
  • 2 sliced tomatoes
  • 1/2 Cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 diced garlic clove
  • Olive oil
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon black pepper
  • Olives (optional)

Picture-Perfect Pizza Recipe — Directions
  • STEP #1 — Place the pizza stone on the grill and turn the burners to high. Close the grill and let the environment pre-heat. Ideally you want your stone to be about 400 to 500 degrees F and the air to be 550 to 700 degrees F. This should take at least 10 minutes depending on your grill.

  • STEP #2 — Prep your working surface with a little cornmeal or flour to prevent sticking. Get your pizza ready for grilling by stretching the dough into desired shape and placing on your coated working surface or your pizza peel. Note: pizza dough is very hard to stretch when cold so it's best to set out of the fridge for a few hours before going to work.

  • STEP #3 — Place your sliced tomatoes evenly over the pizza surface and lightly drizzle some olive oil over them. Mix the feta, garlic, olives, salt, basil and black pepper in a bowl and spread evenly over the tomatoes.

  • STEP #4 — Add some cornmeal to your pizza stone to help prevent sticking.

  • STEP #5 — Slide your pizza onto the stone.

  • STEP #6 — Close the lid and let it grill. If you've reached the proper temperature pizza can cook in as little as 3 minutes. If your temp is lower (around 500 degrees - 550 degrees F) it will take about 7 to 10 minutes to properly cook. Give it a check every 2 to 3 minutes, but try not to lose air temperature as you work. If the pizza is cooking unevenly simply grab your peel and give it a quarter or half turn on the stone.

  • STEP #7 — Once your dough has lightly browned and your cheese has melted you can use your peel to remove the pizza and slice it up into tasty slices.

  • STEP #8 — You can go right back to work and keep the pizza coming or shut it down after one pie, but ALWAYS allow the stone to cool completely before removing from the grill

Features:

  • Set includes 13" Pizza Stone; Folding Pizza Peel and Pizza Cutter
  • Folding handle stainless pizza peel stores easily
  • Cut and serve pizza quickly

Eight circular stone feet keep the stone balanced on an oven rack and give you superior grip and maneuverability.

Bring the taste of the Old World home with Old Stone Oven.

Often homemade pizza never tastes the same as a pie from your local pizzeria. However, this baking stone is made of the same firebrick material that lines kilns and blast furnaces and duplicates the results of old stone ovens to produce superior-quality and crispy pizza crust at home with all of your favorite fixings on top. The stone heats evenly and retains heat well so pizzas stay warm for a while after they come out of the oven. The material also withstands thermal shock so uncooked pizzas prepared earlier in the day move from the refrigerator to the oven without producing cracks in the stone. The baking stone has a 16-inch diameter, which is large enough to make a family-sized pie or can also bake rolls, biscuits, or circular-shaped breads. A flat surface area makes it easy to cut and remove slices right from the baking stone. Eight circular stone feet keep the pizza stone uniformly balanced on an oven rack so cheese or toppings won’t slide off. --Cristina Vaamonde

While your friends devour their pizza they will look at you with a mixture of awe and horror,

Quickly calm them by telling them "Elon Musk invented it. It's the same material as the rockets."
They will vigorously nod and grunt acceptance as they keep chewing.
