A few months ago, I bought the SKLZ version which was awesome. Then I wanted a second one for the office. I saw this one and from the pictures I figured it was basically the same thing as the SKLZ product. It's not even close.
-SKLZ version returns the ball on the right side of the putting surface which is ideal for the right handed golfer. An easy scooping motion from the face of the putter and it brings it back on the green. The Club Champ returns the ball on the left side, so you sort of awkwardly have to use the back of your club to bring it band and then I sort of nudge it onto the green with my foot.
-SKLZ version returns the ball almost all the way back to the front of the putting surface. Club Champ returns the ball only a short distance so you have to walk to the ball to get it. Not a big deal if you only want to hit 5 balls or so but pretty annoying if you practice a long time like I do. With the SKLZ version, I can send a ball up into the hole, and while its heading back down the ramp I'm already sending another ball. I can literally keep this going for an unlimited amount of time...only limited by my dedication to keep doing it...and never have to move around.
-SKLZ version returns the ball very quickly. I think maybe because the platform that has the hole that the ball goes into is a bit taller. But in any event, the Club Champ just takes its sweet time.
-I have been unable to get the Club Champ surface to become completely smooth. I've tried everything I can think of from books to heavy plates. It just never gets truly flat so there is no confidence that a miss hit was from the swing path or the bumping road the ball went down. When I first got the SKLZ version, it was a bit bumpy as well, but within a few days I had it perfectly flat and I didn't try all the techniques that I have this time around.
-The SKLZ putting surface is MUCH wider. I think this could also be why I had an easier time getting the surface to be perfectly flat.
-As an added bonus, the SKLZ version has the measurement markings. Pretty obvious from the pictures so I'm not telling you anything you wouldn't know. But I didn't think it would be important to me, but I can tell you that the markings are preferred now that I've had both.
I'm always trying to spend the least amount and still get quality. This is one example where the additional cost of the SKLZ version is really worth it. I'll be ordering another SKLZ version to replace this one. BTW I use a Scotty Newport 2.5 and practicing with the SKLZ putting system has really increased my putting skills.
Happy putting!
Alex

It's a fairly simple set-up. The green felt has some white marks so you can do the same distance repeatedly. I like starting at the closest one, move back one every time I get it in, then go forward again.
If you hit really hard, the ball will go off the end because of the ramp, but a normal putt easily gets stopped and returned to you. You can change the angle of the return track so it goes right where you want it to. It is just gravity fed, but it is enough.
I used this a bunch before golfing with family. My cousins I was with commented on how straight my putts were. I've never had that feedback before using this
